چکیده

Explorations into visual distortion techniques from information visualisation have not been matched by research into human performance in distorted visual spaces. Systems implementing distortion techniques have not consistently borne out the promise of distortion techniques; however, the studies have demonstrated that users are often disoriented by the unnaturalness of the mismatch between the visual and motor modalities. The current research examines the interaction problem with distortions, using two task paradigms to compare target selection performance of two distortion techniques against static targets. Preliminary results indicate that while certain techniques perform very well in abstract tasks, applying them to more realistic tasks introduce difficult design decisions.

Amino acids interacting with defected carbon nanotubes: ab initio calculations

The adsorption of a number of amino acids on a defected single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) isinvestigated by using the density-functional theory (DFT) calculations. The adsorption energies andequilibrium distances are calculated for various configurations such as amino acid attaching to defectsites heptagon, pentagon and hexagon in defective tube and also for several molecular orientationswi...

O-5: Identification of Novel ImmunodominantEpididymal Sperm Proteins Using CombinatorialApproach

Background: Alteration in the protein signatures of functionally immature testicular spermatozoa occurs during their journey through the epididymis. This leads to acquisition of sperm domain specific functions essential for successful fertilization. Epididymal sperm proteins are preferred targets for immunocontraception as well as in elucidating the causes of infertility. The Background of the ...

Genetic Drift in Populations of Distorting Gene Complexes

We use stochastic population models to study the evolution of distorting gene complexes. Distorting gene complexes, or distorters, are chromosomal regions characterized by meiotic drive: a heterozygote bearing the distorter passes it to more than 50% of offspring. Homozygotes bearing the distorting complex are sterile. Although distorters promote themselves at the expense of other genes in the ...
